Spring Break: What to Pack

Who’s ready for spring break!? Drinks on the beach? Tan lines?

Just kidding, we all know I’m all about that SPF and protecting my skin. And I don’t really like the taste of alcohol (but I will be getting my hands on a piña colada at some point). However, I’m SO ready for spring break. This semester has been kicking my butt, so I’m thrilled for a week with friends in Palm Beach Gardens.

Packing for a trip can be tricky. I hate when I overpack, but I also hate feeling like I don’t have enough options. I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of things, so I decided to share with you some of the items I plan on bringing on my week-long spring break trip. The biggest key is planning. Don’t just throw everything in a suitcase. Go over how many days you’ll be gone, the types of activities you’ll be doing and the weather. I know I’ll be spending a lot of time outside at the beach, on a boat, exploring the city and probably sweating (thanks, Florida heat). I’ll be keeping it casual and fun for most of the days and I’ll include a few nicer items for going out. Here are a few clothing items and accessories that I think are essential for a spring break trip:

Beauty Products for Spring

Hi, everyone! I can’t believe it’s March already. This semester is going by so fast. We’re only a few weeks out from it “officially” being spring and I couldn’t be happier! Spring is a time for change, so I’ve decided to try some new beauty products. These are some products I’ve fallen in love with this past month, and I thought I’d share them with you.

First, we have one of my favorite perfumes, Eau De Toilette Vanille from Anthropologie. Now, I usually go for cleaner, floral scents for the spring but as you can tell by how little is left in the bottle, I keep reaching for this sweeter scent. I constantly receive compliments when I wear it. It’s a delightful scent that sort of smells like cookies, but not in an overpowering way. I’ll definitely be picking up another bottle when this one runs out!

Floral & Feminine

Happy hump day, everyone! I hope your week is going well. According to a certain groundhog, we have a few more weeks of winter. However, as a Floridian, that means nothing. The temperature is already getting back up into the 80s, which means that I can get by with dressing for spring (or summer, if we’re being honest). Since starting my job at Francesca’s, I constantly see things that catch my eye, but I don’t necessarily buy them right away. I am a poor college kid, after all. This dress was a different story. I knew I had to have this floral wrap dress the second I saw it. Initially, I was nervous about the length due to the fact that I’m only 5 feet tall, but the flowing silhouette is flattering on so many different shapes (and heights). It’s the type of dress that instantly makes you feel confident when you put it on.

Shifting to Spring

While it wasn’t shocking to see ’70s-inspired trends hit runways for Spring 2016, I’m not going to downplay my excitement to see suede and fringe once again  for this upcoming season. Transitioning from winter to spring is always a little strenuous, especially for a Florida girl like myself. We can go from needing a jacket to needing sunscreen in the matter of 24 hours.

However, I enjoy this time of year because it gives me the opportunity to play around with new spring items. So how do we incorporate spring when the high is 73 and the low is 48? With this outfit, I decided my statement would be this faux suede mini dress in the color camel (Forever 21).
