Hi, everyone! It’s definitely been waaay too long since I’ve written a blog post. Between starting my senior of college, working constantly, and moving into a new apartment, my schedule has been so busy. However, it’s officially a new year for me, so things are about to change. That’s right, I’m now 22 years old (insert obligatory Taylor Swift lyrics here). I’ve decided that I’m going to spend this year really focusing on the things I care about and want to pursue career-wise. That means this blog and my YouTube channel. So stayed tuned! I have some really exciting projects lined up. Let’s dive right in!
I remember being in elementary school and being obsessed with my army green culottes and my camo shirt with the little monkey on it from Limited Too. I never thought I’d be obsessed with culottes as a 21-year-old, but here I am. Pants are one of my favorite items of clothing because they’re so much fun to style. When I realized culottes were making a comeback I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some. I was planning on picking up a pair of black or white ones so they’d match everything, but when I saw these pink ones from Zara, I knew I had to have them.
The fit is great, and the wide-leg style is ideal in the summer heat. I also adore the kind that have a tie at the waist, since I’m a small girl. And who doesn’t love a good bow? They’re just so girly and fun. I can’t stop wearing them! I paired them with a simple white crop top and I loved the way it looked. How would you style culottes?
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you have some fun plans full of pool floaties and trendy one pieces for the holiday. I have extremely exciting news to share with you all; I’ve recently teamed up with FYND Fashion Boutique and I just had to show you all my favorite piece. And you can get 15% off online or in store on full priced items using the code “KATIE” at checkout!
How adorable is this strapless jumpsuit? Lately, rompers and jumpsuits have been my go-to outfit, but the perfect one is difficult to find. Thankfully, they’re not too hard to fynd if you know where to look.
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year for various reasons. However, the main reason is more free time!! Actually, this summer I’m balancing a part time job and two internships… Okay, I guess when I say more free time I really mean no school work. Having a break from classes and homework is truly such a relief.
So, instead of spending nights at the library with my boyfriend, we can make time for fun summer date nights. This look is what I put together for a recent night out in the beautiful Winter Park. Summer weather in Florida can be a little tricky. It can rain, be humid or just insanely hot. However, we were lucky enough to have great weather on this evening. It wasn’t too hot and the humidity wasn’t too high.
Who’s ready for spring break!? Drinks on the beach? Tan lines?
Just kidding, we all know I’m all about that SPF and protecting my skin. And I don’t really like the taste of alcohol (but I will be getting my hands on a piña colada at some point). However, I’m SO ready for spring break. This semester has been kicking my butt, so I’m thrilled for a week with friends in Palm Beach Gardens.
Packing for a trip can be tricky. I hate when I overpack, but I also hate feeling like I don’t have enough options. I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of things, so I decided to share with you some of the items I plan on bringing on my week-long spring break trip. The biggest key is planning. Don’t just throw everything in a suitcase. Go over how many days you’ll be gone, the types of activities you’ll be doing and the weather. I know I’ll be spending a lot of time outside at the beach, on a boat, exploring the city and probably sweating (thanks, Florida heat). I’ll be keeping it casual and fun for most of the days and I’ll include a few nicer items for going out. Here are a few clothing items and accessories that I think are essential for a spring break trip:
Happy hump day, everyone! I hope your week is going well. According to a certain groundhog, we have a few more weeks of winter. However, as a Floridian, that means nothing. The temperature is already getting back up into the 80s, which means that I can get by with dressing for spring (or summer, if we’re being honest). Since starting my job at Francesca’s, I constantly see things that catch my eye, but I don’t necessarily buy them right away. I am a poor college kid, after all. This dress was a different story. I knew I had to have this floral wrap dress the second I saw it. Initially, I was nervous about the length due to the fact that I’m only 5 feet tall, but the flowing silhouette is flattering on so many different shapes (and heights). It’s the type of dress that instantly makes you feel confident when you put it on.
While it wasn’t shocking to see ’70s-inspired trends hit runways for Spring 2016, I’m not going to downplay my excitement to see suede and fringe once again for this upcoming season. Transitioning from winter to spring is always a little strenuous, especially for a Florida girl like myself. We can go from needing a jacket to needing sunscreen in the matter of 24 hours.
However, I enjoy this time of year because it gives me the opportunity to play around with new spring items. So how do we incorporate spring when the high is 73 and the low is 48? With this outfit, I decided my statement would be this faux suede mini dress in the color camel (Forever 21).
