I may or may not be writing this instead of studying for exams…
Only two and a half more weeks until it’s officially summer break! While I’ve been counting down the days, I’ve also been discovering new products that I plan on using throughout the summer. I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you all!
As the days get hotter, I find myself reaching for refreshing facial products. One item I’ve been loving is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. With rose, seaweed, gardenia, thyme and aloe extracts, the scent is clean and soothing. This spray is incredibly hydrating, so I give myself a thorough mist after cleansing my face and before applying my moisturizer. It gives an added boost to my skin while also locking the moisturizer into place. It also works perfectly as a setting spray after applying makeup. It helps eliminate cakey looking foundation, giving my skin a healthy, dewy glow. This will definitely be a staple in my skin care routine this summer!
Another skin care product I keep using is the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay. Clay masks are so beneficial for your skin, especially if you have any problem areas. Those who have more oily skin can benefit from wearing this mask all over the face for about 15-20 minutes. Since I have dry skin, I use it more as a spot treatment. Red clay is great for the skin because it soaks up any dirt and surplus oil surrounding blemishes, leaving the face feeling renewed and bright (thanks to the high levels of iron oxide). The best part about this mask is that you just peel it off. No messy clean up!
Next up is the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Temper. This red-orange lipstick is absolutely stunning and perfect for summer. I pair it with the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Bang to create a gorgeous lip color. The formula is very long lasting and it doesn’t dry out my lips. I think that’s why I love it so much. All you have to do is add some mascara (I prefer Benefit’s Roller Lash) and you’re all set!
The lipsticks come in a variety of finishes including high shine, mega matte, comfort matte, metallic, satin and shimmer. I definitely recommend the comfort mattes over the others. Check out Urban Decay’s website or head over to Sephora to see the various shades. I recommend going in person to take swatches, as some colors aren’t as accurate in the photos online. Let me know if you pick one up and how you like it!
Lastly, I can’t get enough of printed pants. Whether they’re palazzos, joggers or drawstring pants, I can’t stop wearing them! They’re so comfortable and so much fun to style. I always get compliments whenever I wear a pair of printed pants. The pair in this photo is from H&M. I actually purchased them last spring, but I’ve linked similar ones that I also adore. I prefer high waisted printed pants because they can easily be paired with a solid color crop top or a tucked in blouse. There are so many options out there, too! Aztec prints, florals (my favorite), stripes, etc. I find them perfect for spring and summer because they’re soft, lightweight and comfortable.
I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the items I’ve been loving this month. Let me know if you decide to try any of them and share your thoughts with me!
